Montana-native Bethany Olds is a fiddle/violin player and instructor, singer and songwriter. She started playing fiddle when she was 14 and began competing a year later. As a competitive fiddler, she won several major titles, including: 1997 National Junior Fiddle Champion, 1998 and 1999 Montana State Fiddle Champion and 2001 Tennessee State Fiddle Champion. She moved to Nashville in 2000, where she has played with Sara Evans and Pam Tillis, as well as numerous studio sessions in both Atlanta and Nashville. She won a Dove award in 2010 for her participation on the Glory Revealed II album.

Bethany has taught beginner violin and all levels of fiddle lessons since 1997, the last four years of which have been at Sky Studios. Over the years, she has learned to adapt her teaching style to each student's learning strengths. She teaches by ear, by tabulature and by notation, and if desired, incorporates several different styles of fiddle and violin to help each student learn what he or she want to play, whether that be folk music, pop songs, basic improvisation or minuets. Bethany is well-loved by her students, and she is happy to teach students of all ages.
